Hi, I’m Melissa, a Licensed Professional Counselor and the founder of Holistic CBT. I provide anxiety treatment and trauma therapy to help teens, college students, and adults navigate challenges related to anxiety, trauma, relationships, and major life transitions with compassion and clarity.
As a therapist, I strive to create a space that feels calm, collaborative, and deeply human. My approach blends evidence-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with holistic practices that honor the mind–body connection, often referred to as holistic CBT. In our work together, we’ll explore how thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations connect — helping you build insight, restore balance, and create lasting change, particularly in the context of anxiety treatment and trauma therapy. Whether we’re practicing new coping skills, exploring patterns in relationships, or simply learning to breathe through difficult moments, each session is guided by collaboration, curiosity, and care.
Therapy with me is a space to slow down, feel safe, and restore your sense of calm and clarity — one step, one breath at a time. Our work together focuses on understanding thought patterns through holistic CBT, reconnecting with yourself, and developing skills that bring greater calm and clarity, especially in the context of anxiety treatment.
Each session is an opportunity to pause, reflect, and build the tools you need to move forward feeling balanced and supported. I view healing as a process of returning to yourself — a journey toward balance, self-compassion, and renewed strength. My goal is to help you not only manage what feels heavy, such as trauma, but also rediscover what makes you feel whole.
Therapy, much like life, is about finding harmony — between stillness and movement, solitude and connection, effort and ease, all while addressing the complexities of trauma therapy.
Outside of my practice, you’ll often find me recharging in nature, flowing through yoga, or soaking in quiet moments of stillness and meditation. I also value spending time with family and friends, listening to thought-provoking podcasts or inspiring books on Audible, and exploring cozy cafés and cute plant shops around Bergen County — always on the lookout for the perfect matcha spot!
These moments of grounding and connection are what help me stay balanced and present — the same qualities I hope to help my clients cultivate in their own lives through techniques like holistic CBT and anxiety treatment. I believe in embodying the practices I teach — finding calm in movement, presence in stillness, and connection in everyday moments.
I believe that healing isn’t only what happens in session — it’s also found in the small, mindful moments that help us come home to ourselves, which is especially important in trauma therapy. And sometimes, the smallest moments of awareness create the greatest change.
